Itinerary – Victoria, BC to Jasper National Park and return
This roadtrip to Jasper AB from Victoria BC was my idea. “It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey,” I told my husband as I directed his packing of our camping van. “We don’t want to miss anything.”
“But why does it have to take 6 days to drive 900 kms?”
We’re still working on this road trip idea. Hubby was not quite convinced that we would have a good time. I told him he’d have a great time. He grunted as he heaved more of my stuff into the van.
Our destination – Jasper National Park, where we will meet up with my son and his partner for a 3-day camping trip. Since we have to drive from Victoria, BC, anyway, why not check out a few other destinations?
Here is our itinerary:
Ferry to Horseshoe Bay, and lunch stop at Shannon Provincial Park
Nairn Falls Provincial Park, where we will meet up with camping buddies Deanna and Rick (one day sightseeing in Whistler) 2 nights
Whistler, BC. Some short hikes and the Peak to Peak Gondola experience. 1 day
The Fishing Highway (Bob’s input) 3 nights, with a lunch stop at Chasm Provincial Park on the way
Jasper National Park – 3 nights camping with our son and his partner, Tim and Shelley with a short stop and hike at Jackman Flats Provincial Park on the way
Canyon Hot Springs – 1 night
Vaseaux Lake Provincial Park – 1 night
E.C. Manning Provincial Park – 3 nights
Return to Victoria.
