Adventures for Everybody

Adventures for Everybody

Welcome to my website.

I once read this great quote, “The Adventure Starts When You Step Out of Your Comfort Zone.”

That is what adventure means to me.  Stepping out of the mundane, the daily grind, and witnessing the awesomeness of the world we live in.  Here in Canada, we are blessed with such a richness of nature, culture, experiences.

Focussing in on my home here in British Columbia, we have an amazing Provincial Park system of 648 provincial parks.  Each park is unique:  the history,  First Nations culture, geography or geology, recreational opportunities.  Hikes from 1 hour to 7 days or more, mountain biking, paddling, swimming, skiing, winter camping, living museums, wonderful nature houses and kids programs…and the list goes on.

My goal is to visit all of these parks and see what makes British Columbia so special.

Check out my Bucket List to see the growing number of parks I have been to.  Click on the highlighted names to read about the adventures and activities.

The blogs are my personal experience in the provincial parks, plus ideas for adventures around the parks, and road trips.  Sometimes we use a Westfalia Vanagon, but when it is in the shop for repairs or maintenance, we resort to a tent.  Yes, even at our age it is possible to find a comfortable camping mattress! If you don’t like roughing it, most parks have alternate accommodations nearby, and I will discuss some of them as well.

This website is about experiencing the adventures of British Columbia, no matter what your age and ability is.  If you’re ready to step out of your comfort zone, the many adventures in and around BC Provincial Parks are waiting for you!

Enjoy the write-ups and photos, and please leave a comment!
